Cash, Jace,
and Sawyer: Three cousins sharing an inheritance of five hundred acres of prime
California ranch landāand a whole lot of surprises . . .
Cash Dalton
is no rancher. Heās an FBI agentāor at least he was, until he left a haunting
case behind him and a load of guilt in front of him. Now it turns out heās also
a fatherāto a twelve-year-old girl he didnāt know he had. Clearly, itās no time
for a new romance, especially not with Aubrey McAlister, whoās renting the
cottage on Dry Creek Ranch. She doesnāt even seem to like him. Still, thereās
nothing wrong with looking . . .
After
calling off her wedding, Aubrey is trying to focus on her interior design
career and avoid the fact that sheās the center of small-town gossip. Clearly,
itās no time for a new romance, especially not with brooding Cash. Though she
does find him sexy as hell. And he has softened since his daughter
arrivedāenough for Aubrey to help decorate her roomāand even try to get Cash to
open up about the chip on his shoulder. Once he does, both their hearts might
just followābut will their futures sync up as well? . . .

UNITED INDIE BOOK BLOG REVIEW
REVIEWER: LAURA
RATING: 5 STARS
This book has just enough romance mixed with a bit of mystery. Cash is an interesting character. He is a former FBI Agent who just found out he has a 12 year old daughter. I like how Cash deals with Ellie and helps her get used to being in a new place. It is fun to see how Ellie joins her cousins. Travis and Grady help her fit in on the ranch.
Aubrey has to deal with the small town people who think it is her fault she broke up with her fiancƩ. I like the scene where she tries to get in the window of her office because the secretary won't let her in. Of course Cash comes along to help.
The cattle stolen from the neighbor's ranch gives Cash and Jace a case to track down the culprit. Aubrey helps with some clues too. I like how they all work together.
I enjoyed this book. I hope you do too.
Excerpt
Aubrey got the impression they were no longer talking about
painting. āYou must be a renegade, Cash Dalton.ā
He held her gaze, his eyes so blue, they reminded her of
Mill Lake in summertime. āMaybe, how ābout you?ā And then his eyes slid over
her in a way that wasnāt altogether respectable.
āMe? Uhā¦Iām pretty conventional.ā
āThereās nothing about you a man would call conventional.ā
He stepped in front of her and flicked a piece of tape off her shirt.
She lifted her face to his, hoping she wasnāt misreading
what was going on here. āShould I take that as a compliment?ā Are you
making a move on me?
āDamn straight itās a compliment.ā His lips twitched and he
tilted his head down close enough that she felt his warm breath on her cheeks.
āYou know, I nearly kissed you the other day? How weird would it be if I kissed
you now?ā
She chewed her bottom lip. āProbably pretty weird.ā But she
didnāt move away.
His lips hovered barely an inch from her mouth. āShould we
try it? Whatās the worst that can happen?ā
It was just a kiss, she argued with herself, trying to
dismiss all the reasons it was insane, starting with the fact that sheād just
broken her engagement to another man. Her head told her to back away, but her
mouth said, āI donāt see how it could hurt.ā
And then, just like that, he covered her mouth with his,
tasting her lips until the kiss grew deeperā¦
