Blurb:

Her life had never been a fairy tale. Adopted at birth, Isabella never felt like she fit in. All she ever wanted was a happy family and a love of her own. When she suddenly became a single mother of two, her life changed for the worst until she ran into a handsome stranger. A billionaire playboy, Gabriel had lived a charmed life. Never one to settle down, he didnā€™t understand why he was drawn to this woman he knew his father would never accept. Still, one date leads to another and suddenly he had the life he never knew he always wanted. Together, their life was perfect, until the lies were exposed. Then, their happily ever after couldnā€™t be further away.

Excerpt:

While coming out of her hazy sleep, Isabella stretched slightly and felt an arm tighten around her mid section. She happily reached down to touch him and slowly opened her eyes to find Gabriel staring at her, propped on his side. ā€œHow long have you been awake?ā€ She rubbed at her eyes. ā€œI donā€™t know. Iā€™ve just been lying here studying you.ā€ His lazy smile caused her to blush. Then Gabriel leaned down to graze her cheek with his lips, sending a ripple down her spine. Isabella looked away, giving him the perfect opportunity to run his fingers down her neck. She shivered again. ā€œStop! I canā€™t even think with you touching me.ā€ She grinned and covered herself with the sheet. ā€œSo, what shall we do today?ā€ She tried to change the subject in order to pull herself back together. It had been so long since she had been caressed and cherished. ā€œYou donā€™t like me touching you?ā€ ā€œAu contraire. I love your touch. Iā€™m ridiculously attracted to you, butā€¦ā€ She frowned as she tried to figure out how to explain the emotions she battled. ā€œThereā€™s always a but.ā€ He chuckled. ā€œItā€™s scary getting intimate with someone new.ā€ Isabella sat up and shrugged. ā€œAnd once we start, thereā€™s no going back. Iā€™m afraid of going too fast, not savoring, missing out on all those glorious stages before the big show.ā€ Gabriel tugged at his goatee. ā€œImpressive analogy. Weā€™ll take our time, my Bella. I want to savor every moment with you. Does that help?ā€ ā€œIt does. Itā€™s just thatā€¦itā€™s different for me. When we do this, Iā€™m not simply sharing my body, Iā€™m sharing my heart.ā€

When Isabella exited the bathroom wearing a robe over her bedclothes, carrying a bottle of lotion, she could see Gabriel was intrigued. ā€œArenā€™t you going to be too warm tonight?ā€ He yanked on her bathrobe tie. ā€œWhat do you have on under there anyway?ā€ He jokingly tried to peek under the bathrobe. Feeling daring and sexy, Isabella flashed him, exposing for the briefest of moments her camisole top and matching French cut bikini. ā€œThe bathrobe is just until bed,ā€ she explained, wandering over to sit at his side. ā€œI think I need a longer look,ā€ he murmured lazily against her neck. ā€œI could help you lotion your back.ā€ He slid the bathrobe down until it exposed her shoulder, then he kissed her there, lingering long enough for her to feel his warm breath against her skin. Her stomach fluttered in response. Isabellaā€™s head tilted to give him further access. Her eyes closed as she savored his kisses and his gentle touch. She barely noticed as he took the lotion bottle from her hands and began to pour some into his hands. Gradually, he pulled the robe further until it had pooled around her bottom on the lounger. ā€œWow,ā€ he whispered, as if afraid to break the spell. The warm breath upon her neck made Isabella shiver. ā€œIā€™m going to lift your top so I can lotion your back.ā€ Slowly, he pulled it up with one hand. As she listened to Gabriel rub his hands together, she tried to relax. Never before had she ever craved a manā€™s touch like she did his. Never before had she been so afraid to give in to her desires. Finally, his hands were on her skin, smoothing the lotion into her back. He rubbed up to her shoulders and down her arms. Somehow along the way, he managed to remove her camisole altogether. For some reason, she didnā€™t object. Every bit of her body ached with need. How would she ever maintain her resolve to wait? Not forever, but a little bit longer. Remember, she reminded herself, he lost interest in all the others once they gave in. Iā€™m not ready to let him go.

first a dream teaser towel#3

ā€œHey. Whatā€™s wrong?ā€ Gabriel was lying on the bed, an arm covering his face, still wearing the towel heā€™d left the bathroom in. ā€œNothing.ā€ ā€œLiar.ā€ She hopped on the bed and straddled him, the little minx. ā€œIf youā€™re trying to get my attention, youā€™ve got it.ā€ He moved his arm and his eyes widened. ā€œYouā€™re naked.ā€ He tried not to stare, but it took everything in him to not drink in the beauty who had settled on his groin. She giggled. ā€œNo, Iā€™m not. Iā€™m wearing a towel.ā€ ā€œYes, but itā€™s in your hair.ā€ Gabriel smiled now and rolled her onto the bed, smoothly landing on top of her. ā€œHow do you do it?ā€ He shook his head as he gazed upon her, this woman who had won his heart. ā€œDo what? That thing in the shower? Oh, so Jessie bought Jenna Jamisonā€™s memoir and there were some tips in it. I finally had someone to practice on. Howā€™d I do?ā€ She winked at him. ā€œYou could definitely use more practice. Any time youā€™d like, Iā€™d be willing to offer myself as human guinea pig.ā€ He removed his towel from around his waist. ā€œYouā€™re still a little wet.ā€ He began to pat at the water droplets on her skin. ā€œHow do I do what?ā€ Isabella asked quietly. Her nipples had hardened and he was confident she was growing aroused. ā€œIā€™m a fool for you, Bella Parker.ā€ He leaned down and planted a kiss on her sternum. ā€œI puked on youā€¦ā€ ā€œAnd you just came on my face because you respect me too much to come in my mouth.ā€ She interrupted with a grin. ā€œIā€™m still trying to figure out the soundness of your reasoning, but heyā€¦at least we were in the shower. And you didnā€™t blind me, so thereā€™s that.ā€ Her eyes sparkled as she spoke. ā€œI didnā€™t say respect.ā€ She opened her mouth, but he silenced her with a finger over her lips. ā€œI said ā€˜love.ā€™ā€ He took a breath. ā€œIt surprised me, too, but I mean it.ā€ Gabriel leaned his head against her chest. ā€œYour heart is absolutely racing.ā€ He gazed at her sweet face. ā€œI honestly didnā€™t think myself capable of it. My mother broke my heart long ago. I never really healedā€¦until you.ā€ Slowly, he moved his finger from her lips. This time, Isabella rolled him over with a thrust of her hips. Then she landed on top of him, slowly rearranging herself so she was sitting on his pelvis and his erection was behind her. Gabriel smiled up at her, his face pink from embarrassment. ā€œYouā€™ve changed me, too, you know.ā€ She spoke almost begrudgingly. ā€œIā€™m falling hard for you, Gabriel.ā€ Her eyes turned glassy. ā€œI didnā€™t want to. Iā€™m still getting out of my last hopeless relationship.ā€ He shook his head. ā€œWait. You think this is hopeless?ā€ Isabella chewed on the side of her lip. ā€œSometimes I do. When weā€™re apart, you seem so far away. When weā€™re together, I donā€™t feel good enough for you.ā€ ā€œMy love,ā€ Gabriel moaned. ā€œHow can you think these thoughts? I call and text all the time when weā€™re apart. And when weā€™re together, I lavish you with attention.ā€ Her face softened. ā€œThis is true.ā€ ā€œHow can you think youā€™re not good enough for me?ā€ He struggled to sit up and take her in his arms. ā€œYouā€™re the best woman I know. Youā€™re an amazing mom, incredibly talented photographer, and for some reason, you like me.ā€ ā€œI didnā€™t say ā€˜like.ā€™ In fact, I distinctly recall saying I was falling in love with you.ā€ Isabella stared down at him. ā€œYouā€™re going to break my heart, arenā€™t you?ā€ ā€œNever,ā€ he vowed, and sealed his promise with a kiss. ā€œIā€™m holding you to it.ā€ She sighed and wrapped her arms around his neck.

First a Dream (Dreams Come True, #1)First a Dream by Emma Nichols
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Isabelle's life has been rough, her father's death at a young age basically molded her into the person she is. Always giving pieces of herself and getting little in return. When she finds her husband has been unfaithful with someone she didn't *really* expect, she has to decide to be happy for herself. Gabriel came off as a spoiled brat who basically always gets what he wants, runs into Isabelle and can't seem to get over her. As most relationships, you learn more about each other as time goes, however little lies might be the point of breaking it off for Isabelle. Can both overcome their pasts to start a future together. The storyline is written really well at times I did feel like it was pushed and a little hard to continue. Overall, I enjoyed the book and look forward to the next in the series.

Death of the Spirit (Crossing Death #2) by Rick Chiantaretto Blog Tour

Death of the Spirit *Crossing Death #2* Genre~Dark Fantasy/Occult I have no idea who I am anymore. In Los Angeles, I would have given anything to go home to Orenda, my world where magic was alive and nature spoke to me. Now that I'm back I feel out of place, burdened with responsibility. The human part of me misses the simplicity of Earth, the mage part begs for connection with magic, and the demon part? I don't want to admit that exists. As the darkness inside me grows, Iā€™ll learn to sacrifice for the greater good, as my people have always done. In order to save my family (both mage and human alike), I must face my nightmare, embrace the demon, and descend into the shadowy world of my enemyā€”the Hell of the Damned. Once there, I will have nothing left to fear but myself: Edmund Gavel, human, mage, demon... maybe monster.
