The Heroes We Break is book 1 in the Heroes and Villians duet. It started a little slow for me as we got the back story on the Fox and Hart families. Ophelia meets Ethan and Silas the day they become her neighbors and is instantly interested in the brothers. Silas being the illegitimate son and older doesn’t have much to do with her except watching. A darkness lurks in the Fox household in the form of their father. Ophelia finds herself engaged to Ethan even though neither want that and her father in jail. We switch from present to past several times and it was a little hard to get into during some chapters. By about 45% I was hooked and needed to see where Ophelia and Silas headed and how long they’d fight their attraction. I’m excited to see where book 2 will take us and how it will all play out. Secrets were uncovered and I have no idea what it will all mean.
