Away Game by Harlow Layne Blitz

 Release Date: February 4

The plan was to move away and never look back.

Get away from him, out from under my father’s disapproving stare, and start a new life in Willow Bay.

It was supposed to be my fresh start, but instead my past followed me.

The one thing I desired and couldn’t have.

Weston Jackson.

I hated how he made me feel things that I couldn’t give into without turning my world upside down.

I wanted to make him pay.

For the way my father now looked at me. For the way I saw myself.

But most of all… for wanting him the way I did.

This is a full-length high school and college enemies-to-lovers and new adult romance with high angst, suspense, and gutting emotion. It's book one in the Willow Bay series that will have interlinking storylines. Away Game can be read as a standalone and starts off a four-book planned series. This is the only MM story. The others are MF.

UNITED INDIE BOOK BLOG REVIEW
REVIEWER: AMY
RATING: 4 STARS
I had such high hopes for this book but there was so much that was missed. I love the build up between the bullying and then realizing they had the feeling. I love seeing them after they get together and how they build their relationship from it. We didn't get that from this book. I didn't really get why Fin bullied West in the first place..yes I get it cause he was feeling something for him and that West's team beat them in the championship but was that enough to bully someone? I liked West and how he worked but I feel like he wasn't exactly living life like he should have. Yes people knew he was gay but he wasn't really showing it all that much. The part with the Frat only brought the team closer, made a sweet moment with Fin and West and a touching scene with their coach that opened eyes for the boys but it shouldn't have been the focus of the book. I wanted to know more about the characters and why they acted the way they did especially Fin. There had to be a reason why his parents treated him so bad..I mean that kid probably had a killer back story that we will never know. West we learned a little about him and why he was so determined to make it in the NFL. These two had some sweet moments especially at the end but I missed the moments that I loved so much! The little things in relationships and seeing West football career take off. It would have been nice to see them together more and how they functioned as a couple. I loved Oz, Ford and Ridley as their friends. They were the best family these two needed. I liked this book but just needed more from it
