KALKIN by TL REEVES & MICHELE RYAN Blog Tour

Keeley Blueriver is not doing a very good job hiding out. After being viciously attacked, she and her sister Danielle pack up and move across the country to Window Rock, Arizona. But Simon found them before, and heā€™ll do it again. How and when are the only questions.   Kalkin Raferty, Alpha of the Raferty pack, has spent his life protecting his family and pack from outside threats. He believes his time for finding a mate has passed. Who would want an old Alpha wolf?   A chance meeting puts Kalkin face to face with his destiny and now he canā€™t get the blonde-haired, hazel-eyed woman out of his mind. His wolf is poised to claim her, but with danger lurking around every corner, is he willing to risk everything to have her?
ā€œWhere the fuck is the baby?ā€ He kept his voice controlled, knowing the pup was safe and sound with Danielleā€”for now. Kal tried in vain to keep his voice down so their neighbors couldnā€™t overhear their conversation. As it stood, he still wasnā€™t sure how he felt about Keeley. Well, he did, but acknowledging the mating and participating in it were two totally different things. Right now, they didnā€™t need any extra headaches. However, he had a sneaky suspicion he was in over his head and he was too stupid, or ignorant, to admit it. ā€œHeā€™s with Danielle.ā€ Caden shrugged, moving around his brother. ā€œThe boy was in his pup form when I got him. I couldnā€™t take him to a hospital and you know if I took him to a vetā€”which there isnā€™t one in a twenty-mile radiusā€”they would have freaked out if he spontaneously shifted. So, I brought him back here.ā€ ā€œYou donā€™t think the girl will freak the fuck out when he spontaneously shifts, Caden?ā€ Kal couldnā€™t believe what his brother said. ā€œNo,ā€ he answered plainly. ā€œNo?ā€ Kalkin snorted. ā€œI have got to hear this explanation. Come on, lay it on me. Tell me, ā€˜oh smart one,ā€™ why she wonā€™t freak the fuck out when the baby shifts.ā€ ā€œSheā€™s not normal either.ā€ A slow small crossed his brotherā€™s lips. ā€œShe got thisā€¦thing. I promised I wouldnā€™t tell anyone about it, but bro. Sheā€™s special.ā€ ā€œGreat. Fan-fucking-tastic. So, she could have a serious case of gas, but sheā€™s special.ā€ Wow, he knew his brother could be stupid sometimes, but this was a colossal fuck up. It ranked right up there with the time they were sixteen and Caden decided he was going to pull the tail of a cat shifter. The asshole ended up in bed for a week with tiger claw slashes to his side. ā€œIā€™m being serious, asshole,ā€ Caden snapped, going nose to nose with his brother. ā€œShe helped the pup more in five minutes than a hospital could in two fucking weeks. I promised her I wouldn't say what it was, but I felt her. She did something to him and he was a different pup when he woke up.ā€ Kalkin blinked, taking in everything his brother said. A part of him wanted to believe his brother and another part of him wanted to continue to chew his ass. He also realized he should be more concerned with the pup. Kal blew out a breath and scrubbed his hand across his brow. ā€œHow bad?ā€ ā€œTwo broken legs and some bites. Danielle thinks heā€™ll be fine. She wrapped the wounds and set his back legs.ā€ He chuckled a bit. ā€œAiden ate up the attention when I checked on them after Mrs. Martin hooked me up with some breast milk for the boy.ā€ Caden turned serious for a moment. ā€œI donā€™t know why Tiffany had fucking pups. She couldnā€™t even take care of herself when we were younger. Then she goes off and gets fucking pregnant. The bitch tried to kill him!ā€ Kalkin watched his brother pace. ā€œAiden is now parentless. Why? Because she doesnā€™t have enough fucking sense to bring all the pups to her Alpha.ā€ Wait. ā€œThere are more?ā€ He couldnā€™t believe Caden would take one and leave the others. ā€œWhy did you leave them?ā€ ā€œAiden is the only one who survived.ā€ ā€œFuck.ā€ Heā€™d have to deal with this sooner rather than later. ā€œDo we know the father?ā€ Caden snorted. ā€œIf I had to guess? Someone in the Quincy pack. The kid smelled of piss and shit, though, so I couldnā€™t be sure.ā€ ā€œShit. Not what we need right now, but because you went off half-cocked, you brought shit down on our new neighbors.ā€ Kalkin couldnā€™t even be angry anymore. He understood Cadenā€™s need to protect the baby. However, it couldnā€™t be at the expense of two women whoā€™d been through their own shit. ā€œWhat are you going to do when Aiden shifts and is a baby?ā€ ā€œWell, I had been thinking about it when you pulled up to house like Billy Bad Ass. Iā€™m going to tell her what we are.ā€ What? ā€œAre you fucking kidding me?ā€ He couldnā€™t believe what his brother was saying. ā€œWhy?ā€ ā€œTell me you aren't planning to do the same.ā€ Caden's blue eyes swirled with intent. ā€œTell me you weren't going to have Keeley run with you during the full moon.ā€ His brother had him. He had been contemplating revealing himself during the first day of the summer festival. ā€œShit,ā€ he said, blowing out a frustrated breath. ā€œThis is all FUBAR.ā€ Fucked up beyond all recognition. ā€œTell me about it.ā€ ā€œYouā€™re part of the reason, asshole.ā€ He turned away from his brother and caught his neighbor staring at him. ā€œGreat.ā€ ā€œWhat?ā€ His brother stepped over to where he was standing. ā€œAh, shit.ā€ There, peeking out of their window, stood Keeley, Danielle, and a very happy little boy. Shit, maybe his brother had been right. ā€œYeah, great fucking work, asshole. Iā€™m betting they saw and heard everything. So much for having to explain it to them.ā€ ā€œHold on. Youā€™re assuming they heard anything. Theyā€™re completely human. They couldnā€™t hear a flea fart.ā€ ā€œI thought you said Danielle is special.ā€ Kal cocked a brow. ā€œOr were you blowing smoke up my ass about her?ā€ ā€œShe is. I can assure you what I experienced when she started working with Aiden,ā€ Caden paused. ā€œShit, bro. It was amazing.ā€ ā€œAre you sure she was touching the pup?ā€ he quipped. ā€œYes, dickhead. It wasnā€™t sexual at all, but it had been amazing nonetheless.ā€ Cadenā€™s blue gaze locked with Kalā€™s and his demeanor turned serious. ā€œSheā€™s my mate.ā€ Of all the fucking things he expected his brother to say, finding his mate hadnā€™t been one of them. ā€œShit. Are you sure?ā€ ā€œOh yeah.ā€

Death of the Spirit (Crossing Death #2) by Rick Chiantaretto Blog Tour

Death of the Spirit *Crossing Death #2* Genre~Dark Fantasy/Occult I have no idea who I am anymore. In Los Angeles, I would have given anything to go home to Orenda, my world where magic was alive and nature spoke to me. Now that I'm back I feel out of place, burdened with responsibility. The human part of me misses the simplicity of Earth, the mage part begs for connection with magic, and the demon part? I don't want to admit that exists. As the darkness inside me grows, Iā€™ll learn to sacrifice for the greater good, as my people have always done. In order to save my family (both mage and human alike), I must face my nightmare, embrace the demon, and descend into the shadowy world of my enemyā€”the Hell of the Damned. Once there, I will have nothing left to fear but myself: Edmund Gavel, human, mage, demon... maybe monster.
