UNITED INDIE BOOK BLOG REVIEW
REVIEWER: CATHY
RATING: 4 STARS

This was my 2nd Lindsay Detwiler book and I was really intrigued by the description. Marley and Alex are both really well developed and interesting characters. I also enjoyed that the book didn't have a lot of drama. It was really just about them and their relationship. How do you navigate someone's quirks, history and issues. They both bring out the best in each other and push them to a better future. It's a great change of pace from a lot of books I've read recently.

Author Bio

An English teacher, an author, and a fan of anything pink and/or glittery, Lindsay's the English teacher clichƩ; she loves cats, reading, Shakespeare, and Poe.

She currently lives in her hometown with her husband, Chad (her junior high sweetheart); their cats, Arya, Amelia, Alice, Marjorie, and Bob; and their mastiff, Henry.

Lindsay's goal with her writing is to show the power of love and the beauty of life while also instilling a true sense of realism in her work. Some reviewers have noted that her books are not the ā€œtypical romance.ā€ With her novels coming from a place of honesty, Lindsay examines the difficult questions, looks at the tough emotions, and paints the pictures that are sometimes difficult to look at. She wants her fiction to resonate with readers as realistic, poetic, and powerful. Lindsay wants women readers to be able to say, ā€œI see myself in that novel.ā€ She wants to speak to the modern womanā€™s experience while also bringing a twist of something new and exciting. Her aim is for readers to say, ā€œThat could happen,ā€ or ā€œI feel like the characters are real.ā€ Thatā€™s how she knows she's done her job.

Lindsay's hope is that by becoming a published author, she can inspire some of her students and other aspiring writers to pursue their own passions. She wants them to see that any dream can be attained and publishing a novel isnā€™t out of the realm of possibility.

Death of the Spirit (Crossing Death #2) by Rick Chiantaretto Blog Tour

Death of the Spirit *Crossing Death #2* Genre~Dark Fantasy/Occult I have no idea who I am anymore. In Los Angeles, I would have given anything to go home to Orenda, my world where magic was alive and nature spoke to me. Now that I'm back I feel out of place, burdened with responsibility. The human part of me misses the simplicity of Earth, the mage part begs for connection with magic, and the demon part? I don't want to admit that exists. As the darkness inside me grows, Iā€™ll learn to sacrifice for the greater good, as my people have always done. In order to save my family (both mage and human alike), I must face my nightmare, embrace the demon, and descend into the shadowy world of my enemyā€”the Hell of the Damned. Once there, I will have nothing left to fear but myself: Edmund Gavel, human, mage, demon... maybe monster.
