For one group of teens, a cruel, twisted fall changed everything.
Relationships. Trust. Destiny.
Now, living with the harsh consequences of their choices, is there hope to mend what fall has left broken?
Find out as the story continues.
The weight of a thousand elephants pushes against my shoulders.  I canā€™t handle it anymore.  Iā€™m dying inside.  I canā€™t move.  I canā€™t breathe.  A low wail escapes my searing throat.  Nothing can hold it back.  Slowly sliding down the wall, I tuck myself into a ball, and weep like a baby.
Moments later, I wince at Jennaā€™s unexpected voice, ā€œCome on! Youā€™ve got to get up now.ā€
ā€œI canā€™t go!  Not now!ā€  I gasp, wiping the residual tears from my eyes.
She continues to tug at me.  ā€œYou are not going to sit here and feel sorry for yourself.  You and I both know that youā€™re not the one to blame for this.  Get your ass up!ā€
I slowly start to inch my way up and off the wall.  Iā€™m so shaky, I teeter back and forth like a toddler learning to balance for the first time.
Looking down at the motionless body is horrifying.  Tears well up and beat at the back of my eyes.  She is barely recognizable.  Her face is pale and bloated.  My GodThis is worse than I imagined.  I want to erase the horrifying image I see lying before me.
I shake my head and pull my hand up to wipe the tears that are starting to slip from my eyes.  Get it together. You donā€™t have much time.

Julie Solano has lived in far Northern California, nearly her entire life.  She graduated from CSU, Chico, where she majored in Psychology and minored in Child Development.  She later went on to Simpson University where she obtained her multiple subject teaching credential.  Julie enjoys life in the ā€œState of Jeffersonā€ where she lives with her husband and two children.  As a family, they spend their time tromping around the Marble Mountains and Russian Wilder-ness.  They also take pleasure in rafting, skiing, snowmobiling, off-roading, campfires, and living it up in the great outdoors.  When sheā€™s not with her family, Julie spends her days teaching next door to her co-author, fellow prankster, and partner in crime, Tracy.  The most recent of their crazy adventures was to take on the challenge of writing this silly, little novel about life in their neck of the woods.  They hope you have fun reading this story which was inspired by their small town, rural upbringing, and the personalities of their four children.

Death of the Spirit (Crossing Death #2) by Rick Chiantaretto Blog Tour

Death of the Spirit *Crossing Death #2* Genre~Dark Fantasy/Occult I have no idea who I am anymore. In Los Angeles, I would have given anything to go home to Orenda, my world where magic was alive and nature spoke to me. Now that I'm back I feel out of place, burdened with responsibility. The human part of me misses the simplicity of Earth, the mage part begs for connection with magic, and the demon part? I don't want to admit that exists. As the darkness inside me grows, Iā€™ll learn to sacrifice for the greater good, as my people have always done. In order to save my family (both mage and human alike), I must face my nightmare, embrace the demon, and descend into the shadowy world of my enemyā€”the Hell of the Damned. Once there, I will have nothing left to fear but myself: Edmund Gavel, human, mage, demon... maybe monster.
