Title: Almost Perfect ~ A Good Girl Novel
Author: Jenny Siegel
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: October 6, 2015
For the last three months, Charlie has worked hard to
reinvent herself as a good girl. Now living with her boyfriend Dominic,
everything is perfect.
Almost.
Charlie thought she had escaped her past, but as more
photographs surface, she wonders if it has finally caught up with her? Despite
Dominic's assurances that nothing can come between them; the truth isn't easy
to accept when it's staring you in the face. Especially when Charlie realizes
there might be more to the photos than someone trying to remind her of a life
she'd rather forget.
Can she make peace with her past or will it destroy her
present?
Being the good girl just got dangerous.
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Charlie and Dominic’s story picks up right where we left off in the first book. Dominic finds out that his brother is marrying his ex, the ex that caused a stir in the first book between him and Charlie. Dominic’s brother is requesting that he put aside his differences with his family and come to the wedding. Charlie accompanies him and meets his entire family as well as some old friends from when Dominic was younger. These old friends make comments that stir up some insecurities with Charlie about her past. On top of this she keeps receiving mysterious pictures and notes from someone bringing her past up and causing tension between her and Dominic.
I really enjoyed this book, the only reason I’m giving a 4 star rating instead of a 5 is because the chapters felt a bit disconnected from one another, especially in the beginning, the flow just wasn’t there. It was still a really enjoyable read for me though, I love Charlie’s sense of humor and the author does a fantastic job at running you through all the emotions her characters are going through. I will definitely be checking out the next book!
