There are a lot of layers to this story. It’s also a slow burn romance. I really loved Cami from the beginning. You can just feel how much she is trying to do the right thing. Her motivations and drive to keep her only family (Kenzy) safe are explained more throughout the book. Lysander is also driven to protect his family at all costs. They have a ton of chemistry, and both are caring people trying to do the right thing. I do feel like the pacing is a little off and some plot lines rushed and it ends too quickly for me. But I found it to be a fast paced and easy read with characters you want to get together.
