I do enjoy a TL Smith story. My Beautiful Poison fell a little flat for me and honestly I’m not really sure why just a bunch of tiny things that bothered me throughout. I think TL Smith always writes a strong male lead and as much as I like August he just wasn’t as strong as I am used to with her other books. I did enjoy his loyalty even when he pretended he wasn’t. Rylee is persistent and loves fiercely. I enjoyed the storyline and the writing flows nicely between the two. Knowing it’s a duet, I always prepare for a cliffhanger and that’s what we get. I’m not sure what is going to happen but I do hope we don’t have to wait long.
