(Except for that one night in high school, but they don’t talk about that.)
Growing up, he was her protector. Her confidante. The one guy she could always trust.
Now she’s a marine biologist working toward her PhD in California, and he’s an underwear model in New York. Dylan’s only in town for a few days, crashing on Brooke’s couch and repaying the favor by acting as her date to a friend’s wedding.
It was totally an accident she saw him naked.
After that, “just friends” goes out the window in favor of friends with benefits.
It’s all going great…until it isn’t.
Dylan’s got a ticket back to New York at the end of the week, and Brooke may have accidentally broken his heart. Can they navigate these uncharted relationship waters? Or has she tanked her oldest friendship?

Sweet and Funny!
This book was so good I read it in one session! I couldn't put it down.
I love that Brooke is studying whale ear wax. How fun that this substance can give us the whole history of the whale. Brooke is almost finished with her PHD. A mistake when she was younger has separated her from her family. I like that Dylan has kept their friendship alive after many years. He comes for a much needed vacation. The scene where Brooke sees him naked is not to be missed. They are both very embarrassed. It leads to some steamy later scenes.
There is a very poignant part of the story later in the book that resolves some long needed feelings. I like how this all comes together.
I look forward to reading more of Susannah Nix's books. I hope you like this book as much as I did.
