At the beginning of her senior year, Bree Porter had everything figured out. She knew who she was, what she wanted, and where she was going.
The only thing she didn't know was how to tell the world that her childhood bestie, Skylar Hale, was also her secret girlfriend.
But only months before Bree and Skylar are set to start their lives together away from the narrowed minds of Markson Grove, Bree meets Evan Daniels and everything changes.
One glance. That’s all it takes for Bree to begin questioning everything she thought she knew about herself.
Skylar Hale has been running from her past for years. She won’t speak about it to Bree— she won’t acknowledge it at all— because it’s dark and scary and connected to a name that makes her tremble to her core.
Now the perfect life she created with Bree is on the verge of collapse, leaving her haunted by a past she’s desperate to forget and back to a world she never thought she’d see again.

I look to the ground. “What are you doing, Evan?” I ask uneasily.
He sighs. “I don’t know,” he says. “I don’t know what you want. This is really weird for me. Because I know what I want, and I know that you know what it is.”
“What is it you want?” I ask, even though he’s right, I already know the answer.
“To be with you, to kiss you, to touch you. All the time.”
I stand there in silence for a long while, knowing what I want to say but knowing that if I say it, everything will change and I won’t be able to take it back.
“I think I want those things too,” I whisper softly, still looking to the ground.
He takes a deep breath. My words have surprised him and it seems like he’s trying to decide something now. I peer into his eyes, attempting to read him, and the moment that they make contact, his lips are on mine in a breathtaking kiss.
He lets go of my hand in order to place his hands on either side of my face. His lips are hot and moist, and so soft. The minute he opens them slightly, I begin to kiss him back, slowly at first, and then with an urgency I can’t begin to describe.
Evan’s body responds to this urgency right away, and he picks me up off of the ground and sits me on the hood of his car. I wrap my legs around him and I can feel him pressed up against me in a way that makes everything down there tingle. He begins to kiss my neck while caressing my breasts; I throw my head back and let out a gasp.
And then I think of Skylar.
“We can’t do this,” I say as I break the connection and I push him off of me gently.
He’s breathing heavily and his cheeks are red. “I know,” he says. “I’m so sorry.”
UNITED INDIE BOOK BLOG REVIEW
REVIEWER: LESLEY
RATING: 5 STARS
Having received an advanced copy of this for review I can honestly say this was, despite some intense drama, a REALLY good read. This book definitely isn’t for the faint at heart as it addresses some quite serious events and topics. Reading this sent me on an emotional rollercoaster ride from start to finish. The stripping back of the main characters emotions and history leave you with a whirlwind of feelings from upset and agony to concerns of how they will ever survive. This story hits the ground running and the pace never falters as you delve into the lives, loves and secrets of the characters involved. There are twists, turns and events you just don’t see coming. So again, this a great read but be prepared for multiple emotional journeys and turmoil at every turn.

This Book was amazing, My emotions were all Place. My heart broke for everyone in this story. Three best friends, two of whom are misfits. There are lies, and deceit among them, and even some heartache. Things aren't what they seem. I didn't expect anything that happened. This book dealt with drugs and alcohol situations among other stuff high schoolers have to deal with. thank you United Indie Book blog for allowing me to read this book. It REALLY touched my heart.
She loves to push the boundaries with her writing and has always been a fan of angsty stories.
She is happily married to a loving and supportive man whom she’d be lost without; they have one son, two cats, and a dog together.
When she isn’t being mom and wife, or working at her day job, Amy can be found either curled up on the couch with a good book, writing imaginary characters for others to fall in love with, or binge watching TV shows on Netflix.
