Someone was watching her.
Evie gripped her keys and glanced around.
The watcher was standing in the shadows across the alley. His eyes gave him away: a faint, luminous green.
Her heart kicked into a gallop. ā€œJace?ā€ she called. ā€œIs that you?ā€
Please let it be him.
He stepped out of the shadows. She blew out a breath. It was Jace.
He crossed the alley in a few long, loose strides. An atavistic tremor went down her spine. This was the real Jaceā€”and he was nothing like the injured, feverish victim of last week. No, this man was dark. Powerful. Raw-boned. A panther in a T-shirt and jeans.
She squared her shoulders and lifted her chin, because damn it, sheā€™d saved the manā€™s life. She refused to let him spook her.
He stopped a few feet away. ā€œHello, Evie.ā€
He was bigger than she remembered, but then, last week heā€™d been hunched over nursing his injuries. Now she realized he was a good half foot taller than her with the lean, hard build of a soldier. Another shiver went down her spineā€”but this one had nothing to do with fear.
USA TODAY bestselling author Rebecca Rivard read way too many romances as a teenager, little realizing she was actually preparing for a career. She now spends her days with dark shifters, sexy fae and alpha vampiresā€”which has to be the best job ever. Her books have twice been awarded the prestigious Crowned Review from InD'Tale Magazine, and her novel Tempting the Dryad (#3, Fada Shapeshifters) is a 2017 RONE Finalist. Her novel Stealing Ula: A Fada Shapeshifter Prequel was a 2017 Finalist for the coveted PRISM Award given by RWAā€™s Fantasy, Futuristic & Paranormal Romance Chapter.

Death of the Spirit (Crossing Death #2) by Rick Chiantaretto Blog Tour

Death of the Spirit *Crossing Death #2* Genre~Dark Fantasy/Occult I have no idea who I am anymore. In Los Angeles, I would have given anything to go home to Orenda, my world where magic was alive and nature spoke to me. Now that I'm back I feel out of place, burdened with responsibility. The human part of me misses the simplicity of Earth, the mage part begs for connection with magic, and the demon part? I don't want to admit that exists. As the darkness inside me grows, Iā€™ll learn to sacrifice for the greater good, as my people have always done. In order to save my family (both mage and human alike), I must face my nightmare, embrace the demon, and descend into the shadowy world of my enemyā€”the Hell of the Damned. Once there, I will have nothing left to fear but myself: Edmund Gavel, human, mage, demon... maybe monster.
