Blurb
I was afraid to fly.
He made me soar.

After years of climbing the ladder of success in the music industry, I finally had everything I could want.
Yet I still found myself wandering through life alone.

Captain Evan Roth was the one man I never saw coming.
Tall, dark, mysteriousā€¦ Straight.

We were both damaged beyond repair and searching for something so elusive we werenā€™t sure it even existed.

But, when two broken souls collide in midair, falling is a given.

I just never expected to crave the spiral down.

Excerpt
Henry
ā€œHow about you and one of your girls come out to my show in L.A. next week? My treat. Dinner, drinks, the whole deal. Evan and I would love to take you two beautiful ladies out for an evening.ā€
ā€œExcuse me?ā€ he exclaimed, cocking his head to catch my gaze.
I leaned back into my seat and lifted a hand to massage his shoulder. I was barely able to suppress a moan when the angle of his firm trap muscle met my palm.
Fuck, this guy was built like a brick wall. And I was going to love every second of watching him crumble for me.
ā€œOh, come on, Evan. Itā€™s the least we can do. Double date.ā€ I winked at Jessica. ā€œYou can fly them out! My plane should be ready by then.ā€
Jessicaā€™s eyes jumped to Evanā€™s. ā€œYouā€™re a pilot?ā€ Her smile spread irritatingly wide.
Back off, Ginger Spice.
Snapping my fingers in her direction, I corrected, ā€œHeā€™s my pilot.ā€
Subtlety was not a virtue I possessed. Was subtlety a virtue at all?
ā€œYour temporary pilot,ā€ he amended before shaking his head and then tipping his beer to his lips for a long pull.
ā€œAnyway. Do we have a date?ā€ And, by date, I meant feeding her dinner while I attempted to work my way into Evanā€™s pants.
She pressed one finger to her lips and then nervously flashed her eyes around the cabin.
ā€œOops. Sorry.ā€ I shrugged sheepishly. Lifting my drink to my mouth, I discreetly passed her my cocktail napkin and then not-so-discreetly brushed my forearm against Evanā€™s chest as I pulled away.
He offered her a tight smile just before she disappeared.
I grinned proudly.
ā€œWhat the fucking hell was that?ā€ he whisper-yelled at me.
ā€œThat was me getting a womanā€™s number.ā€
He arched an eyebrow. ā€œA woman. Really?ā€
ā€œWhat? Is that not allowed?ā€ I feigned innocence.
He clenched his fist in his lap, and it made me suddenly aware that my own hands had stopped tremblingā€”and in record time, I should note. Evan seemed to be quite useful in the art of distraction.
He leaned closer. ā€œDonā€™t bullshit me. I looked you up. Youā€™reā€¦ā€ He stopped, unwilling to say the big, bad ā€œGā€ word.
ā€œIā€™m what?ā€ I taunted.
He rolled his eyes and chugged the rest of his beer.
We went back to silence until Jessica came back by with another drink, complete with her phone number written on the napkin.
ā€œIā€™m not going on a double date,ā€ Evan said as I tucked the napkin into my pocket. ā€œYou want me to fly them out? Not a problem. Schedule it with Jackson. But thatā€™s the extent of my professional responsibilities. And, since Iā€™m off the clock right now, Iā€™d also like to mention that I think whatever play youā€™re planning to run on that woman is fucked up.ā€
My head snapped to his. ā€œIā€™m sorry. Play?ā€ I asked with more attitude than I had originally planned.
ā€œYes. Play,ā€ he sneered.
I stirred my drink. ā€œLet me get this straight. Iā€™m offering to fly her out in a private jet, feed her dinner at one of the best restaurants in the city, and put her front row at a concert that has been sold out for over a year. That doesnā€™t seem like a play to me. It sounds like Iā€™m trying to do something nice for a woman I was rude to earlier.ā€ I casually leaned back in my seat. ā€œMy conscience doesnā€™t ā€˜playā€™ when it comes to apologies.ā€
ā€œRight. Well, maybe you should have a chat with your conscience, because she looks like she just won the date of a lifetime. Meanwhile, you donā€™t even like women.ā€ He stalled, no doubt looking for just the right word to express his disgust without sounding like a bigot. Judging by his gentleness when weā€™d taken off, he wasnā€™t the type of guy to go for the fag bomb.
I watched him intently, excited to see how he was going to handle this.
ā€œYouā€™re gay.ā€
I frowned at his lack of creativity. ā€œNot that itā€™s any of your damn business. But Iā€™ll have you know I love women.ā€
It wasnā€™t a lie. I adored women. Especially Levee and Robin.
I just didnā€™t like pussy. Meh. Semantics.
He gaped. ā€œYouā€™re bi?ā€
ā€œAnd Iā€™ll repeat: None of your damn business. But yeah. Do you have a problem with that?ā€
Again, it wasnā€™t necessarily a lie.
Was I bisexual? Fuck no. My cock was in no way an equal opportunity employer.
I was somewhat bilingual though. I knew how to ask for a blow job in English and Spanish. I pretended that was what he meant.
Chupame la verga.

UNITED INDIE BOOK BLOG REVIEW
The Spiral Down (The Fall Up, #2)The Spiral Down by Aly Martinez
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I never expected anything less than perfection from this book and I was not disappointed in Henry and Evans story. The romance, the passion, chemistry and basically everything made this book perfect. Aly gives a romance a building of trust and a foundation to build on not just hot sex. I read this story in one night and when I was done wished I could go back and start all over.
In the Spiral Down we meet Leeve friend The Fall Up and get drawn into his rock star lifestyle but sometimes things arenā€™t like they seem and when a minor incident leads a mysterious pilot into his life he is all for the chase but can he hold on when he caught. Evan doesnā€™t know what he looking for a when a breakup leaves him wondering what he wants begin in a relationship with another man is the last thing on his mind. But, love is blind so when it hits the two itā€™s like they are walking on eggshells and trying not to alarm the other. When their world explodes everyoneā€™s caught up in the dynamics.
This book purely explores that love is love and whether it has labels or not it doesnā€™t matter who its with its about the feelings they invoke and what comes out of it. Henry and Evans story has definitely made me a even bigger fan of Ms. Martinez because no matter what she never disappoints her readers. If it could dive this book an even higher rating I would because itā€™s just that good.

Death of the Spirit (Crossing Death #2) by Rick Chiantaretto Blog Tour

Death of the Spirit *Crossing Death #2* Genre~Dark Fantasy/Occult I have no idea who I am anymore. In Los Angeles, I would have given anything to go home to Orenda, my world where magic was alive and nature spoke to me. Now that I'm back I feel out of place, burdened with responsibility. The human part of me misses the simplicity of Earth, the mage part begs for connection with magic, and the demon part? I don't want to admit that exists. As the darkness inside me grows, Iā€™ll learn to sacrifice for the greater good, as my people have always done. In order to save my family (both mage and human alike), I must face my nightmare, embrace the demon, and descend into the shadowy world of my enemyā€”the Hell of the Damned. Once there, I will have nothing left to fear but myself: Edmund Gavel, human, mage, demon... maybe monster.
