The flashbacks if done right and follow along with the story is fine and this one gives you insight on their relationship. It makes the story and how the hate/love started between them. Marley is one determined heroine. She didn't have the best until her grandparents jumped in to raise her and her brother. The two are the type of grandparents you want in your life. My heart for Marley and Maddox and all the crap they had to deal with in this book. Derek and her, met at a party and as life happens keeps bringing them to all the same places. Sure there's times where both of them and mostly Derek screws up and has to make the grand gesture. These two have the connection and when it is strong, it's so sweet and amazing but then it's over.. This relationship goes from high school, rivals colleges and life after all that. Marley is amazing character with so much drive. All she wants is change the world.. Derek is the constant that has always been there for her and finally they reach their point where they have to decide what to do.. This was a good story with characters you will definitely LOVE and hate!!!!!
