Sometimes you can be so damaged that nothing can heal the destruction that has been caused your soul. While reading this book your emotions will run rampant with what ifs and why nots! Hilary Wynne has completely blown me away yet again! This series has quickly become a favorite of mine. I became emotionally attached to these characters in book 1 "Stay". This book was no different. In this book I cried a lot, got so frustrated and then said WTF. Hilary hits you with a twist you don't see coming. – Eye Candy Bookstore
Promise Me - Clean Excerpt © Hilary Wynne“Saying yes to your proposal was the smartest decision I’ve ever made. Walking out of your life was the worst. That’s on me, not on you. I’m glad you pushed me and didn’t walk away, and I’m grateful we’re even talking right now.”
“But?” He hears the pause. He always hears what I don’t say.
“But, I agree you aren’t ready for us to be together like we were before. Neither one of us is the same as we were a few months ago.”
“Really? How so?”
I put my hand on his face and look at him. "I know exactly what I want now. I’ve never been more sure that you and I are right. I feel strong, Julian, like myself, for the first time in forever. I don’t need you to save me or fix me. I need you to love me and I need you to want me.”
Julian just stares and takes my words in. “But I look in your eyes, listen to your words, feel how you touch me, and know you aren’t so sure anymore. I get it. I really do, and I don’t blame you one single bit. I told you before that I wasn’t going anywhere until you tell me to, and I mean it. But you need to figure out what you really want from me, from us. When you do, let me know. I’ll be here if you want me.”

Have you ever woken up one day and said, “Today’s the day I’m going to do (insert thing here)?” Well, I did, and the result is my first novel, Stay. I always thought of myself as a decent writer, and then a trip down memory lane through my ninth grade book of poetry confirmed it. I realize that I have always had a romantic side and a way with words. With support from my husband and kids (and an unspoken agreement to leave me alone for a few hours every night), I embarked on this incredible writing journey.
I’m originally from sunny Southern California and spent my summers in South Florida. I attended college at FSU and received my Masters in New Mexico. I finally settled in the Washington, DC area. My happy place has always been anywhere near the water.
When I’m not writing, I help run a business with my husband, watch an inordinate amount of sports (my kids play something 365 days a year), indulge my competitive spirit on the tennis court, and spend time with my awesome family and friends.
I am an avid reader, but find my characters feel neglected when I hang out with other author’s characters for too long. When I do read, historical fiction is my favorite genre. I love traveling and experiencing different cultures, places, and times.
I feel so blessed that my love of books inspired me to finally do something that I forgot I had always dreamed about doing.
My someday has arrived!
Stay (The Alexa Reed Series Book 1)
I really liked this book even if there was times I wanted to smack Alexa. I realize that she is grieving and blaming herself for her ex's death. She has been in therapy for years but never opened up. Her and Julian are explosive. She bumps into him at a club one night, and after one night she is fighting feelings that she has never felt before. Julian is instantly drawn to her and is reluctant to have her. She is dealing with figuring out her feelings along with her best friend Luke having feelings for her as well. There's a whole lot going on in this book. Things finally come out in the open and it isn't good. She is more confused than before. She may have lost her best friend in the process but she finally has the breakout she's been waiting for. I truly love Julian, he's suave with his Spanish speaking, and fancy cars. I like that Alexa is strong even though she's been through hell for the past few years. I can't wait to read the next book in the series to find out how things are played out. I can actually relate to Alexa in a way, I had an ex that was sweet at the beginning and then let drugs take over his life.
Hold On (The Alexa Reed Series Book 2)
This book was exactly liked I hoped! Very drama filled but at the same time we finally get to see Alexa grow as a woman. She finally starts to open up to her friends, therapist and Julian. She is feeling free for the first time in a long time, she has her heart open to love and everything looks good. I fell in love with Julian throughout the entire book until he dropped his bombshell and my heart broke along with Alexa's. He was so sweet, charming and all around sexy man until then. I know he had his reason and wanted to do the right thing but he broke her heart in the process. She was finally feeling strong and almost the old Alexa. Her world was shattered and in turn, she did a very stupid thing. This I know will probably test their relationship in the next book since its still heavy on her heart. Julian and Alexa's story has had many happy times but more than anything its been one drama after another. I just want them to have their happy ending! I also want to see Alexa as a strong woman! I know she can be. This book also pulls at your emotion, you really feel what the characters are feeling and going through. Very Well Done Book!
What a journey these two have been on! They have had their shares of ups and downs but in the end they love each other. This book is no different. This book is the best book of the three! This book pulls at the emotional side as well. I found myself getting into the characters that I was crying at the hospital with them and at the surprise wedding on the beach. They have some issues to overcome in this one, Alexa slept with someone else during a break and Julian can't handle that. He has to learn to trust her all over again. But there's moment in this book where she has to decide if she's going to run or stay... I'm soooo happy with her decision.
