book blurb
When Hollywood-critic Andie Foxglove and rising star Guy Wilder become entangled in a torrid romance, they quickly find themselves caught in the spotlight – and it’s none too welcoming.

Andie doesn’t believe happily-ever-afters exist in the real world, and when she finds herself caught between two opposing forces – her integrity and the entertainment industry – she doesn’t she has a choice but to do the right thing: end their romance before she ruins his career, and hers.

Determined to beat the odds, Hollywood’s favorite preternatural lady killer will have to beat his own demons – and the odds – to convince her that, contrary to her academic opinion, sometimes stars can be untangled.

Even a bad romance can have a happy ending.

excerpt

“MMmm.” His words were lost as his mouth nuzzled against her throat. One warm hand slipped around to cradle her neck in his palm. Andie felt her pulse speed up, felt it shuddering against the pressure of his lips on her skin. Her empty hands fidgeted, then ran up through his hair and curled into tight fists.

Guy groaned against her neck and cupped his free hand under her ass. In one deft movement, he propelled them both forward and dropped her flat on her back against the bed. Andie’s breath pushed out between her lips as Guy ran his hand up her leg from foot to thigh, making her skin sizzle and pop in little goose bumps in his wake. He hung above her, a man bathed in shadow with predator eyes shining in the darkness.

“I guess we both have a little bit of a rebellious streak in us then, huh?”

The woman Andie had been just a few days ago—that wizened academic who knew better than to fall under the spell of some disastrously good-looking hot mess paid to be the most mesmerizing thing he could be—was banging on the inside of Andie’s subconscious, reminding her that this was all moving too fast to be normal. Passionate encounters that led to happily ever after’s were the stuff of carefully curated movie scripts, not intended to ever play out in real life the same way they did on the big screen. They were fantasies, not recipes. She should know better than anyone else that these stories never ended well. But even so, even if she was living out some sort of toxic fantasy, she’d take the risk—and deal with the consequences later.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’ve been in a book funk lately. Hadn’t read in a week, couldn’t find something to get me. I came across this book and thought I would try it. I am so extremely glad I did! The writing in this book was amazing. I fell in love with the characters and wanted to know more. I couldn’t stop reading this book.
Andie Foxglove is a university professor in Colorado. One day while going over her class notes in her empty classroom, a stranger walks in. At first, she doesn’t recognize him, then it sinks in. He’s the resident vampire bad boy on one of the most popular shows on t.v.

Guy Wilder is that bad boy vampire, he’s tired of the life of a Hollywood star and is taking a break in Colorado because it’s a whole lot closer to Hollywood than his home state of Alaska. After meeting Andie in the university classroom he is intrigued. She doesn’t fawn after him like most women do. She actually treats him like a regular person and not the star he is.

Can these two completely different people actually pull a happily ever after out of this meeting? Will Andie be able to withstand the onslaught of paparazzi once it comes out that they are dating? Her whole life will be changed, is she strong enough to get through it and stand up to the challenge?

I can’t even talk about this book, there’s so much I want to say, but I don’t want to give the book plot away. This is a book that every HEA lover needs to read. You go through the whole onslaught of emotions, I cried at the end. I even enjoyed how the title came to play in the story.

If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would. The writing and the storyline is just that good. Thank you, Ms. Miller for getting this avid reader out of her book funk with your awesomeness.
