There’s one must-have toy this Christmas, and Neala Clarke has told her niece Charli she’ll get it for her. Never mind that she’s got less than a week and it looks like everywhere is sold out. She’s promised Charli a Fire Princess doll—and Neala is a woman of her word.
Darcy Hart is a people-pleaser. So when his adorable six-year-old nephew, Dustin, asks for a particular doll at the last minute, he says yes. Luckily for Darcy, there’s one left in stock at the local toy store. Unluckily for Darcy, he’s not the only person who wants it—and his rival is the one woman who’s immune to his charms.
Neala and Darcy have loved to hate each other since they were kids, and they’re both willing to do whatever it takes to get that doll. This can’t possibly end well for both of them…can it?

Justin laughed, and it annoyed me.
This wasn’t funny.
“Care to explain why you’re being a dick and laughing at me?” I quizzed.
Justin chuckled. “Why does everyone make Neala out to be something she isn’t? She’s probably the sweetest girl I know, and just happens to have an attitude every now and then. Sounds like every woman I’ve ever met, if I’m honest.”
I gawked at my brother.
“Neala Clarke is the Devil in disguise, brother. You had better realise that. Sweet is the last word I would use to describe her . . . She is evil incarnate.”

UNITED INDIE BOOK BLOG REVIEW

FrozenFrozen by L.A. Casey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was given a copy for an honest review. Oh how much I loved this story!! It’s Christmastime and Neala Clarke’s on a mission. She’s promised her niece Charlie that she would get her the doll she wants for Christmas and it’s now the last minute and she still hasn’t found it. She’s not the only one searching for the doll though. Her ex-best friend and the bane of her existence is also looking for the same doll. Darcy Hart has promised his nephew the same doll for Christmas. After an incident in the toy store, they have pitted family against family. Darcy and Neala’s family is closely knitted. Their parents are best friends and so are their siblings. They used to be as well until an incident in school when they were both young. From that point on, they went out of their way to antagonize each other.
This book made me laugh out loud numerous times. The things they would do to each other throughout their lives was hysterical and also down right mean at times. When they get snowed in together though was the best part. Darcy’s parrot was the topper though. I couldn’t believe the things he trained it to say!! This is definitely worthy of 5 stars, if not more. The writing is awesome! The characters are great, even the secondary ones. I kept thinking about the story even after I was done, wondering what the characters were doing and of there were going to be any more stories from that small Irish town. L.A. Casey, this book was a delightful traipse through the Irish countryside at Christmas. Thank you!!
