Lee'Anne's review of DARE (Brothers of Ink and Steel #1) by Allie Juliette Mousseau

Title: DARE
Series: Brothers of Ink and Steel #1
Author: Allie Juliette Mousseau
Genre: New Adult, Romance
Release Date: January 12, 2015

Sophie Garner is a single mom who’s been raising her daughter on her own, fighting for both of their lives ever since going into hiding to escape her abusive husband.

When Sophie gets offered the job of a lifetime as the exclusive massage therapist for Josh “The Jackhammer” North’s team, it’s difficult to say no to the outrageous salary—and the bet—that Josh proposes. But for Sophie it’s a risk that could cost a lot more than just her heart – if she’s found, it could cost her her life.

Should she dare?

Josh wants to break through Sophie’s fortified walls, but is unwilling to put the jackhammer to his own and reveal his secrets and the side of him few have ever known or seen. To do that, he’ll have to confront the darkness of his past.

Will he dare?

Josh is a full-time UFC fighter, part-time firefighter who meets Sophie after he’s injured in a fire and Sophie is assigned as his massage therapist. The sparks fly immediately between the two but Sophie fights hard against it because of her daughter Charlie and a secret in her past that she’s determined to keep in the past. Josh makes Sophie an offer she can’t refuse… to be his massage therapist on the road for his UFC fighting for an obscene amount of money.

Josh eventually wears Sophie down enough that they have a passionate night together – but then Sophie decides it can’t happen again. There is a lot of back and forth in this book which I really enjoyed. The connection between Josh and Sophie's daughter Charlie is just to cute! I love Josh! Can’t wait for the next book in the series. So well written, and you’re hooked from the very first word!
